Celebrate Christmas at the Nearest Fitness Centre
Christmas is a busy time for many people. It also tends to be a time of year when indulgence is nearly mandatory. This is exactly what leads so many people to make decisions to lose weight and get fit in the new year. While you might think that the Christmas season is the worst time possible to visit your local fitness centre, that’s not true. The gym can work in tandem with the celebratory season and we’ll explain how.
Maintenance Exercise
When you have limited time, it can be difficult to keep to a gruelling exercise routine. It might be hard to make it into the gym numerous times each week. However, you can still do maintenance training once a week or so to avoid losing the fitness you’ve already gained. Plus, once the holiday season is over, you can go back into things full steam after a little more relaxation than normal.
Commit to Fitness
Even if you know you’ll be indulging in foods and drinks you normally wouldn’t, that doesn’t mean you should drop your fitness routine altogether. Plan for some shorter exercise sessions to keep yourself in the habit of working out. Cut down the number of sets you do, for instance, but keep at the hard work you normally do.
Time Efficient Exercises
It’s also a great time to look for the most time-efficient exercises so you can get in and out of the gym to take part in all the gatherings you have planned near Christmas. Do a short but challenging time trial with your favourite piece of equipment. Do a quick, fast run followed by a short slow run. Do what you can to keep your body going even if it’s for less time when you’d normally workout.
